Kelly Hospitality Group Loves a Parade!

March is just around the corner and with it comes the most beloved Outer Banks event – the Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  Held on Sunday, March 17, 2013, the parade starts promptly at 1pm, rain or shine, and features cars, floats, marching bands and more that line up and travel from MP 11.5 to MP 10.5 in Nags Head to celebrate the greenest holiday of the year.  With over 10,000 spectators watching about 1,500 participants, this is one of North Carolina’s largest parades.  Mike Kelly, CEO/Owner Kelly Hospitality, says that “the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is part of a huge weekend on the Outer Banks.  It is how the locals say goodbye to winter and welcome spring to the Outer Banks.”

Throughout the entire St. Patrick’s Day weekend, the Outer Banks is buzzing with activity.  From the crowds that descend upon this barrier island for the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach to the athletes who come on Saturday to run in Kelly’s Running of the Leprechaun 8K to Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, itself, there are so many things to do.  The parade is the perfect lead in to the TOB judging at Kelly Hospitality’s own Pamlico Jack’s.

Kelly Hospitality Group and its three landmark restaurants have been fixtures on the Outer Banks for many years.  In addition to supporting community efforts, Kelly Hospitality Group is known for its superior service with Outer Banks catering abilities at many area parties, weddings and other events of any sizes.

Kelly Hospitality to Host Taste of the Beach Events

Set for March 14 -- 17, 2013, Taste of the Beach is just around the corner.  As one of the Outer Banks most popular annual events, locals and visitors come in droves to enjoy this four-day affair that features so much for which the Outer Banks is known.

Started over 25 years ago, Taste of the Beach highlights some of the best Outer Banks restaurants, bars and breweries.  People love to attend the restaurant tours and beer and wine tastings as well as participate in cooking and beer and wine crafting classes.  Coastal Living Magazine rates the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach as one of the Top 10 Seafood and Wine Festivals in the US.

As always, two of the Kelly Hospitality Group restaurants are set to be major parts of the festivities.  On Friday evening, Kelly’s Outer Banks Restaurant and Tavern will host a special “Six Course Celebration of Northeast North Carolina.”  Chef will prepare local delicacies as only he can prepare them and feature perfect pairings from local vineyards and breweries.  This event is always a favorite for fans of Taste of the Beach as it celebrates the local fares of northeast North Carolina.

On Sunday, Kelly’s will play host to its annual St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza.  An OBX tradition, Kelly’s will feature Irish specialties and beer to pay homage its home country.  St. Patrick’s Day on the Outer Banks requires a trip to Kelly’s to celebrate.

Pamlico Jack’s “Rum Tour and Island Bites” will set sail Friday and Saturday during Taste of the Beach.   This fun event will feature delicious food and tropical cocktails that everyone enjoys in the Caribbean islands.  As a perfect ending each evening, everyone will enjoy an Outer Banks favorite, Pamlico Jack’s Outer Banks Rum Cake.

On Sunday evening, the Grand Tasting will also take place at Pamlico Jack’s.  With two sessions, restaurants will compete in the following categories:  Best Booth; Best in Show; Best Outer Banks Catch; Chef’s Award; and, People’s Choice Awards.  Winners will be announced at the end of the second session.

For the past three years, Kelly’s has won the People’s Choice for Best Dessert and been a People’s Choice finalist.   It is no wonder that so many locals work with Kelly Hospitality to handle their Outer Banks catering and events.
